The identity of a the man who ‘married a 9-year-old girl’ at Disneyland Paris has been revealed.
Disney staff were left horrified after the park was booked for a wedding between an adult and a 9-year-old girl.
The groom and the child-bride’s mother were both arrested after what is now suspected to be a sick social media stunt, costing $150k.
Now, the groom’s identity has been revealed as convicted pae*ophile Jaskarn or ‘Jacky’ Jhaj, a 39-year-old man from London.
He has been charged with fraud, breach of trust, money laundering and identity theft.
Jhaj used a professional make up artist to disguise his identity and pose as a 22-year-old.
He has a history of similar hoaxes and was jailed in 2016 for grooming and se*ually assaulting two 15-year-old girls.
In 2024, he organized a fake funeral where the coffin was empty and he had hired actors to play mourners in London.
In 2023, the criminal organized a fake red carpet in London’s West End where he hired 90 children and dozens of teens as extras to act as the audience. Children as young as six were hired and told to dress in school uniforms while they pretend to faint as Jhaj walked up and down the red carpet in a tuxedo.
He was arrested shortly after this event on suspicion of breaching a se*ual harm prevention order but was released on bail.
At this time, it is not know how he funds these extravagant set ups.
On Saturday, the Disney park was booked out for the “wedding” to take place in front of Sleeping Beauty’s castle, but organizers had no idea that the bride was a child, as reported by Le Parisien.
Over 300 guests and a string quartet arrived at the park around 5am but staff were left shocked when they noticed the bride was only a child.
The child, that was described as “scared and confused”, wore a white wedding dress and five-inch heels that were “taped to her feet”.
The staff then called police who arrived and arrested four people involved, including the groom.
The 41-year-old mother was also arrested – reportedly she and her daughter landed in Paris from Ukraine just two days before the wedding.
It was also reported that two Latvian nationals, were hired to play parts in the ceremony – a 24-year-old woman who was hired to be the bride’s sister and a 55-year-old man to be the bride’s father.
Deputy prosecutor Meaux shared with media; “The latter, who initiated the call to Disneyland Paris security, explained that he had been recruited to play the role of the bride’s father for [$13,840] and had discovered at the last minute that the bride was 9 years old,”.
Prosecutors are now investigating if the entire thing was a sick stunt for social media.
Only days earlier, an advert was published asking for extras to take part in a high-end wedding rehearsal. They were looking to hire 200 adults and 100 children aged between 5 and 15.
The actors met at 4am in Paris, where transport was waiting to take them to the park. However, at 6am, Disney staff asked them all to leave.
“We all thought we were going to attend a wedding… Everyone was stunned, no one expected it,” one of the hired extras shared with media.
“Disneyland did things very well. They canceled everything as soon as they realized the bride was a child. We were shocked to see that,” they added.
