A conspiracy theory has been circulating that there was a Melania Trump body double at the parade on June 14 after she did this one thing.
POTUS turned 79 on June 14 and spared no expense to celebrate by organizing a military parade dedicated to 250 years of the US Army.
Trump and first lady Melania Trump walked out to ‘Hail to the Chief’ and ‘Happy Birthday’ alongside their family and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.
However, there is a rumor that Melania didn’t actually attend at all, and in her place, sent a ‘body double’ otherwise known as ‘Fake Melania’ online.
A journalist from The Guardian tweeted: “Absolutely convinced Melania is being played by a Melania impersonator these days. Theory: she left him weeks ago.” – which ended up going viral.
Some theorists believe the first lady is actually dead or has left Trump while others think she simply doesn’t want to be in the public eye any longer.
The speculation was reignited when a report that the 55-year-old has spent ‘less than 14 days’ in the White House during Trump’s first 100 days back in office.
Looking at her body language and mannerisms at the parade, one person wrote on Twitter: “Don’t think that’s really Melania Trump… she seems nice and warm and older and wider… is that a body double?!!”
“It’s not really Melania. I’m a Republican, voted for Trump every time he ran and would again. But, this is a body double and not a very good one,” a second person added.
The parade looked immense with tanks and military aircrafts on display, parachuters dropping from the sky and over 6000 soldiers in uniform walking the streets of Washington DC.
Such a gathering of US troops hasn’t happened since 1991, after the Gulf War.
Trump delivered an eight-minute speech to the crowd and troops, where he said: “Every other country celebrates their victories. It’s about time America did too.
“We’re the hottest country in the world right now,” he continued. “If you threaten the American people, our soldiers are coming for you.”
White House communications director Steven Cheung shared that over 250,000 ‘patriots showed up’ ‘despite the threat of rain’.
However, some online couldn’t help but notice the quality of the parade didn’t appear to be up to par…
Some of the soldiers decided to not even show up, while those that did allegedly walked ‘sloppily’ with little to no coordination.
One person shared on social media: “I’ve marched in more military parades than I even care to remember.
“Probably watched dozens more as a spectator. And this is easily the worst and sloppiest marching I’ve ever witnessed at a formal military parade.
“It feels like a big ‘f**k you’ to Trump from the soldiers.”
Another agreed, writing: “Why do they look so relaxed? Is that standard for a military parade?”
A third typed: “I think it’s code for ‘We hate this mother f**king president’,”.
Another spectator penned: “Our troops are highly skilled, trained, and prepared. There seems to be no other explanation than sending a message to Trump.”
While someone else agreed: “They looked like they didn’t even want to be there.”
While watching the parade, Melania appeared to shoot her husband down in what lip reader Nicola Hickling claimed was a bit of fun between the couple.
She claimed Melanie praised the military troops to her husband by saying ‘they’re good’ to which Trump allegedly said: “I pushed my finger on one of them.” to which his wife responded “You didn’t do that.”
She then claimed Trump said: “You’re right, I never pushed my finger on them.”
Many have taken to social media to hit back at the “small” turn out. One person wrote: “Bro said ‘display of military might’. I see lawn chairs and a Bluetooth speaker,” while another added “It looks like a recruiting booth a Six Flags.”
“More people IN the parade than AT the parade,” wrote another.
Many pointed out that they felt sorry for the military that showed up and that the parade, estimated to have cost between $25 million to $45 million, was a waste of resources.
“Military parades are a waste. I want our troops to be allowed to do their jobs, not be paraded around for trump’s birthday,” one person wrote.
In another bizarre moment, Trump appeared to be fighting a snooze while watching the parade.
While sat next to Melania, he appeared to drop his head a few times with his eyes close.
Viewers couldn’t help but comment online, with one person writing: “General Fatten orders a gazillion $ military parade and then falls asleep during it. Don Snorleone strikes again!”
Another penned: “Time to relieve him of the office. He is too old.”
“He wasted tax dollars for a parade that he ended up finding absolutely boring and was forced to stay for the whole thing. Amazing.” wrote another.
Those who attended the parade all seem to be saying the same thing online – that the amount of people who showed up has been over exaggerated with Associated Press, the New York Times and Fox News all saying the numbers were a lot smaller.
